Nya:Weh Opening Day Ceremony

Opening Day Ceremony will take place on the Turtle Mound in the Nya:Weh Indian Village at 6:00pm.

Presentation by Derlan Spruce, Seneca Nation, and Ron Patterson, Oneida Nation. Fair Guests are invited to join the Nya:Weh Indian Village performers as they dedicate the Turtle Mound Dance Area for the 2019 season. Listen to the Elders as they explain the importance of the Turtle to the Haudenosaunee and how the Turtle relates to the Iroquois Creation Story. Join the dancers in the Friendship Dance as they express respect and honoring of Turtle Island, Mother Earth. Ceremony followed by a reception in the Nya:Weh Indian Village Education Tent.
