Scholarships

Up to $20,000 in Scholarships Available!

The Erie County Fair and Erie County Agricultural Society offer two scholarship programs annually as part of an effort to foster education and success to students of the area. These scholarships will award students $20,000 again in 2018. Please review the scholarships available and select the one that is most applicable to your involvement at the Erie County Fair and your career/school pursuits.

The application for both the Erie County Fair and Erie County Agricultural Society Scholarship are the same and you only have to submit one, even if you are applying for both. Please be sure to check off the scholarship(s) you are applying for in the top right hand corner of your application.

Scholarship applications are available to download below or can be picked up at local high schools and colleges.

Erie County Fair Scholarship


To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Be enrolling or enrolled in an accredited college or university. Your school does not have to be located in New York State
  • Have participated in the Erie County Fair or events hosted by the Erie County Agricultural Society. Participation includes but is not limited to employment, exhibition, volunteering, marching band, and other performances.

Erie County Agricultural Society Scholarship


To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Be enrolling or enrolled in an accredited college or university. Your school does not have to be located in New York State.
  • You must be pursing an agriculture based career.
  • You must be able to describe how your career choice and studies will help in future agricultural endeavors. Specifically you must be able to tie your goals into the mission statement of the Erie County Agricultural Society of "to preserve and enhance the agricultural and historical legacy of New York State."

New York Association of Agricultural Fairs and New York State Showpeople's Association Scholarship


To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • Be a New York State resident
  • Be enrolling or enrolled in an accredited college or university. Your school does not have to be located in New York State.
  • Have participated in a NYSAAF member fair (Erie County Fair is a member fair)
  • Note: Special consideration is given to Fair participants who are pursuing a career in agriculture, fair management, or the outdoor amusement business. However, all are encouraged to apply.
