This ensemble is open to musicians and color guard members, or dancers who are interested in color guard, currently in grades 7 through 12. This is an excellent and enjoyable opportunity for students to continue developing their confidence and musical skills throughout the summer months, while meeting students from other districts and providing entertainment to the community.
This year's ensemble will be selected based on audition videos and the needs of each section. Previous participation does not guarantee acceptance into this year's ensemble.

Looking For

Students Currently in Grades 7-12 who have:
• Experience reading music, including sight reading
• Experience playing brass, woodwind or percussion instruments OR Experience dancing or spinning flag, rifle or sabre
• Reliable transportation to and from the Fairgrounds
• Current or recent involvement in a school band program

Video Audition Instructions
Your video will need to be uploaded when filling out your application.
Save the video file as your instrument, first name and last name. (example: Snare, John Doe)
Tips: Please test your video before submitting to make sure we can hear your audition.
If using a cellphone to record, please position your phone horizontally, not vertically.

Woodwind & Brass Instruments:

1) State your name, instrument, school name, director’s name, and current grade (as of Spring 2023).

2) Play the excerpt of music provided for your instrument in this packet, following the instructions at the top of the page.

3) Save the video file as your instrument, first name and last name.(example: Flute, Melissa Jefferson)

4) Upload the video once you complete the application form.

Percussion Instruments:

1) State your name, instrument, school name, director’s name,

and current grade (as of Spring 2023).

2) Play the excerpt of music for your first choice of instrument provided in this packet, following the instructions at the top of the page. We understand you may be limited at home with available instruments, so please feel free to utilize drum pads, tabletops, counter tops, chairs, etc., to demonstrate your abilities.

3) If auditioning for snare or tenors, play the additional requirements at the bottom of the audition piece.

4) Save the video file as your instrument, first name and last name.

(example: Snare, Everett Firth)

5) Upload the video once you complete the application form.
If you are accepted, please be aware you will be assigned to an instrument based on the skill levels and needs within the section. Be prepared to provide first, second, and third choice options on your application.

Color Guard:

1) State your name, school name, director’s name (if applicable), and current grade (as of Spring 2023).

2) Briefly describe your experience and/or reason for your interest in applying.

3) If possible, perform a brief demonstration of your skills on flag, rifle, sabre, or dance.

4) Save the video file as your section, first name and last name.
