Homebrewers from across New York State it's time to compete in the Erie County Fair’s Home Brew Competition. The annual summer release of a limited run craft beer based on the winning recipe has become an anticipated tradition at the Erie County Fair for beer lovers!
The deadline to enter and drop of entries is May 4th. In addition to the opportunity to win a gold medal for excellence, the Erie County Fair Home Brew Competition’s Best of Show** entry will be professionally brewed, canned, and named the 2026 “Erie County Fair Best of Show Beer.” It will be on tap at the Erie County Fair for all to enjoy!
**The 2026 Erie County Fair Home Brew Competition winner will be based on creativity of a quintessential summertime brew. All BJCP styles offered as classes can be entered and will be judged. The “Best of Show” beer main judged criteria will be “creative relevancy” for the most
fun beer to enjoy while being at the fair. The winning recipe for this contest
will be commercially brewed and available at the Fair and will be canned for
sale at local retail locations.
