America’s 250th Anniversary

A milestone year, celebrated the Erie County Fair way

In 2026, Stars, Stripes & Summer Nights takes on even greater meaning as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. For generations, the Erie County Fair has been a place where community comes together to honor tradition, celebrate craftsmanship, promote agriculture, and create memories that last long after summer ends. Throughout the Best 12 Days of Summer, we will highlight special moments and experiences that reflect the spirit of America the Erie County Fair way, through the traditions, pride, and togetherness that have defined our Fair for generations.

Beaded Flag Dedication Ceremony

Location: Historical Building Lawn
Sunday, August 15 at 3:30pm
Join us for a Dedication Ceremony of the beaded flag created by Carmen Ardito. Enjoy songs performed by Bello Voice Studio and the Erie County Fair Pepsi All-Star band. Special appearances by George Washington and other historical figures as we honor our flag. A memorable event for all ages, come celebrate history in a truly unforgettable way!

Fairgoers Across America

Location: Erie County Fair Museum
Grab a pin and mark your hometown on the Fairgoers Across America Map. This interactive display showcases the many places fairgoers call home. Watch the map fill throughout the Fair!

Letters to Heroes

Location: Historical Building
Letters to Heroes allows Fairgoers to write ltters of thanks and encouragement to active-duty military members. With the help of the Blue Star Mothers, each letter will be delivered to troops serving our country and veterans.

American Flag Balloon Build

Location: Expo Hall
August 12-17 from 4:30-5:30pm
Join Crazy Christine Balloons and help create a giant American flag, one balloon at a time! Christine will help you inflate a balloon before you add it to this community-built patriotic masterpiece. Strike a pose and capture the perfect patriotic selfie at any time during the Fair!

Scavenger Hunt

Adventure across the Fair and discover the sights, stories and traditions that celebrate America, Western New York and the Fair itself!
Pick up your scavenger hunt from any guest services booth. Once completed, return your completed scavenger hunt to any guest services booth to receive a commemorative Stars, Stripes, & Summer Nights button and be entered to win a prize from Henry's Cookware (while supplies last).

National Anthem Singers

Winners of the first-ever National Anthem Contest will perform the Star-Spangled Banner before each grandstand event throughout the Fair, celebrating local talent.
